DAVENPORT - Raymond C. Wichus, Sr., 77, of Davenport, FL, died Friday, May 16, 2008, in Haines City, FL.
He was born December 25, 1930 in Danville, IL to John C. and Sophia Markowski Wichus. Ray was a retired security officer at the Naval Training Center in Orlando, FL and also a security officer for Flexel and Olins in Covington, IN, and he was a 30 year veteran of the United States Marine Corp.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, of 32 years, Ardith L. Olmstead Wichus, bother, John Wichus and sister, Marianne Willette. Ray is survived by his sons Ray and John Wichus both of Monticello, IL, Wayne L. Wichus of Veedersburg, IN; daughter, Kim Ginter of Warren OH; sister, Fran Yeakle of Sullivan, IL and 8 grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 22, 2008 from 1-3 p.m. with services following at 3 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Monticello with Reverend Allan Oman officiating. The family has asked that memorials be sent to The Walter and Connie Payton Foundation
