SATSUMA, FL - John William Dixon of Satsuma, FL passed away Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine from COPD. He was 66 years old.
A native of Winter Haven, FL, born July 4, 1941, John moved to Satsuma December of 2006 from St. Cloud. Previously he was a long time resident of the Winter Haven area. He retired from hotel maintenance, served in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam era; was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dundee, and was a scout leader in Haines City.
John is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Buddy and Brandy Dixon of Polk City, his sister and her husband: Janis Dixon Romine and Jim Romine of Satsuma, FL, and John also has two grandsons.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 AM from the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery in Winter Haven.
