HAINES CITY - Wilma J. Ambrose, 80, of Haines City, FL, died Monday, May 5, 2008, in Auburndale, FL. due to heart failure.
She was born February 8, 1928 in Evansville, IN to William and Jean Simpson Ambrose, and moved to the area in 1960 from there. Wilma was of the protestant faith and a veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Korean War. She received her Master’s Degree in Education from Western Kentucky University retiring from Polk County School District after serving 26-1/2 years… she was Principal at Highland City Elementary School at the time of her retirement. She was an avid golfer, living at Sun Aire Golf Club.
She is survived by her two brothers, Howard W. Ambrose and Donald E. Ambrose and their families.
