Kenneth A. Harvey

Kenneth Harvey

WINTER HAVEN - Mr. Kenneth A. Harvey, 71, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2008 of cancer at Winter Haven Hospital. 

Born in West New York, New Jersey on July 13, 1936, Ken came to Winter Haven in 1971.  He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, and later became a police officer in Bogota, New Jersey.  When Ken moved to Winter Haven in 1971 he began his career in the finance business by working at Beneficial Finance Company, and then on to the Exchange Bank.  From there he worked as Vice President of various banks and finally to Florida National Bank in Lakeland, where he retired from the banking business.  His final job before fully retiring was working for the state of Florida on their canker project.  Ken was a long time member of the Cypress Gardens Sertoma Club, and he was also a member of the American Legion Post 8.  Ken enjoyed golf, cruises, the beach, and spending time with his family. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Martha M. Harvey; son Chris (Rhonda) Harvey of Port Charlotte; son Jim Harvey of Winter Haven; daughter Donna (Lou) Nash of Lakeland; daughter Diana Wallace and her companion Ronnie Moore of Winter Haven; daughter Linda (Justin) Alex of Apollo Beach; brother Frank Harvey and a sister Ann DeMercurio, both of New Jersey, and a brother Bill Harvey of Winter Haven.  He also leaves behind seven loving grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 8th. At 4:00 PM from the Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven.
