WINTER HAVEN - Bettie G. Hoosier, age 71 of Winter Haven, passed away at her home on Saturday (3/29/08) from cancer.
She was born September 5, 1936 in Hickory Flat, Ky., the daughter of Clifton F. and Lena Mae Grace and had moved to Winter Haven in 1987 from Cincinnati, Ohio after retiring from the Internal Revenue Service. Here in winter Haven she had her own Bookkeeping and Tax Service business. Mrs. Hoosier was a graduate of Winter Haven High School Class of 1955 and was a water skier at Cypress Gardens. Bettie was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Winter Haven, where she held the office of Secretary for 19 years and during those years received many awards including perfect attendance. She also was on the Board of Director, past President and presently the treasurer of the Humane Society of Polk County. She was also a Past Worthy Matron Eastern Star in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hoosier, Jr. in 2005.

Sister, Barbara Heath, Winter Haven
10 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren
Memorial services will be 7:00 PM. Thursday (4/3/08) at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Winter Haven, Florida.
