HAINES CITY - Grasha, Catherine C., 90, died March 20, 2008 in Winter Haven hospital in Winter Haven, FL. Catherine is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Carl J. Grasha.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Catherine is survived by her children, Carl Grasha and wife Pat of Ligonier, PA, Patty Rossi and husband Donald of Haines City, FL, Roy Grasha and wife Diane of Houston, TX, Ronald Grasha and wife Vickie of Apopka, FL, Alice Artman and husband Robert of Murrysville, PA, Roseanne Wilt and husband John of Lockhaven, PA, and James Rump of Butler, PA. Catherine also leaves behind grandchildren, Robert Artman, Jeff Grasha, Lisa Lang, Tammy Hefner, Rhonda Messina, Glen Rossi, Melissa Rountree, Heather Purpura, Michelle Temofonte, Ashley Rippey, Carleigh Wilt, and 18 great grandchildren.
Catherine was born on April 21, 1917 in Braddock, PA, where she lived until 1994 when she and her husband Carl moved to Orlando, Florida. Catherine cherished her faith and her family. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting and quilting, creating beautiful keepsakes for her family and friends. Mom and Grandma as Catherine was known to her family and friends always kept her loved ones supplied with her secret recipe apple pies. Catherine and her husband Carl opened their hearts and their home to several foster children over the years, her generosity and kind heart were an inspiration to those who loved her – she will be dearly missed.
A celebration of Catherine's life will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2008 beginning at 10:00 am at St. Ann Catholic Church located at 1265 Robinson Drive in Haines City. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.oakridgefuneralcare.com
