WINTER HAVEN – Mickey MacDonald 77, died Sunday June 22, 2008 from complications of diabetes.
He was born December 28, 1930 in Lake Sunapee, NH, graduated Sunapee Central High in 1948, and attended Keene State Teachers College before moving to Winter Haven in 1951.
Mickey did service in the Army in 1952 as part of the 11th. Airborne Div., of of Ft. Campbell, KY. He worked in the ski show at Cypress Gardens for eight years, and he was one of the early barefoot skiers there. After the Gardens he worked with Prudential Insurance until retiring in March of 1988 after 28 years.
Mickey is survived by his wife of 55 years: Christine; his 3 sons: Keith (Teresa) MacDonald of Orlando, FL: Steven MacDonald of Winter Haven; and Kevin Macdonald of Cape Coral, FL; grandsons: Mitch and James, granddaughter Chrissy, and 3 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Wednesday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Memorial services will follow at 2:00 PM.
