HAINES CITY - Kenneth "Ken" Bodley, Sr., 82, of Haines City, died July 27, 2008, in Haines City, FL.
He was born April 30, 1926 in Endfield, CT and moved to Haines City in 1988 from W. Springfield, MA. Ken was a quality control analyst for Monsanto Chemical Co. for 35 years; he was an aviation ordinance man in the US Navy serving in WW II and was also a staff sergeant in the US Air Force from 1961-1962. He was a longtime member of First Congregational Church, W. Springfield, MA and also a member of First Presbyterian Church, Haines City. Ken was past president of the Lake Region High Twelve, past Master of the Shawmut Lodge A.F.& A.M of Newtonville, MA and a Boy Scout leader in Thompsonville, Ct for 16 years.
He is survived by his wife, of 61 years, Betty Bodley; children Elizabeth (Daniel) Lindsey of Haines City, Dr. Annette Louise (Bruce) Bodley-Gomes of Ashburnham, MA, David (Angel) Bodley of Lake Wales, FL; grandchildren, Bobby, Heather, Mark Bodley, Danielle Benoit, Christine McGee, Brianna, Bryce, Brant Bodley-Gomes, Michael Bodley, Alice Gifford, and Crystal Smith; and 18 great grandchildren. His son Kenneth I. Bodley, Jr. predeceased Ken.
Visitation will be Sunday 08/03/08 from 3-5 p.m. at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City.
