DAVENPORT, Florida - Mr. Modesto D. Santana of Davenport died Monday, July 21, 2008 in Winter Haven, Florida due to heart failure. He was 85.

Modesto was born February 16, 1923 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico to Haime Delvalle and Fautina Santana, he came to Davenport in 2004 from Lakewood, New Jersey where he had lived for fifty five years. He was the owner of C&I Construction Inc. retiring after twenty six years. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lakewood.

Modesto is preceded in death by his wife, Alejandrina Santana. He is survived by sons, Pedro and Adelica Delvalle of Davenport, Florida, Mariano and Mary Delvalle of Clermont, Florida, Israel and Victoria Delvalle of Manchester, New Jersey and Felix and Maria Delvalle of Lakewood, New Jersey; daughter, Martina and Jorge Casiano of Davenport, Florida; several brothers and sisters; seventeen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 24, 2008 from 10-11 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City, Florida. The final resting place will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Lakewood, New Jersey.
