
WINTER HAVEN - Ouida M. Mincey, 91, of Winter Haven died Friday, July 4, 2008 at Brandywine Healthcare due to renal failure.
Born January 4, 1917 in Rose Hill, Alabama to William and Buena May Johnson Money, she moved to Florida as a child. Her first marriage was to Pierre Lameraux, a Winter Haven Pioneer family, and together they owned Pierre’s Quality Market in Winter Haven. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winter Haven and was a member of Beymer Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a member and past-president of the Winter Haven Garden Club (Bouquet). She was also an avid golfer and was the past-president of Cypresswood Golf Club; and a member of the Polk County Women’s Golf Assn..
She is preceded in death by: her parents, her first husband, Pierre Lameraux; second husband, L.B. Carter; and third husband, Morgan Mincey.
Ouida is survived by: a daughter, Mary Frances Dumas of Winter Haven; a step-daughter, Margery Bell of Winter Haven; four grandchildren, Rev. Peter Jensen Jr. and his wife Diane, Kathy Clark and husband Lin, B. Scott Jensen and wife Kim, and Eric Jensen and wife Lisa; two step-grandchildren, Cathy Brinton and her husband Tom, and Trudy Adams and her husband Danny and 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, July 7, 2008 at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens with Dr. Walter Davis officiating. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.oakridgefuneralcare.com.
