 WINTER HAVEN - Vicki Spivey Parker, 64, a longtime resident of Winter Haven, FL. passed away from cancer on January 27, 2008. She was surrounded by her family and close friends.
Vicki was born on April 30, 1943 in Lakeland, FL, the first child of Cleon and Mary Ellen Spivey. She grew up in Winter Haven and graduated from Winter Haven High School, class of 1961. She went on to graduate from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL and was employed, as an educator, by the Polk County School Board for twenty-five years. She most recently taught school at Winter Haven High School and retired May 2007. Vicki was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winter Haven.
She was a devoted mother providing unconditional love to her two surviving sons, Steven Parker of Winter Haven, FL and David Parker of Orlando, FL. Additional survivors include her father, Cleon Spivey of Winter Haven, FL, brother, Randall Spivey of Auburndale, FL, and niece, Stacia Winfree of Fort Myers, FL.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ellen Spivey. Vicki’s passing leaves a huge void in the hearts of those who loved her. She overcame many obstacles in life and is now peacefully at rest with her heavenly father.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008 in the Oak Ridge Funeral Care Chapel with Dr. Walter Davis officiating. Interment will be at Lakeside Memorial Park.
