WINTER HAVEN - Anna Maria Matys, of Winter Haven, FL, died Monday, January 21, 2008, in Winter Haven, FL. due to respiratory failure. She was 88.
She was born September 22, 1919 in Dansweiler, Germany to Johann And Maria Filtz Schumacher, and moved to Winter Haven in 1985 from Ohio. Anna was a homemaker and a seamstress and a previous member of St Ann Catholic Church of Haines City, FL. She loved to go camping and fishing and she loved to read and to knit.
Anna is survived by her husband, of 57 years, Karl Matys; daughters, Christel Bollig and her husband Willi of Germany, Anni Ewert and her husband Fritz of Winter Haven; four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday January 28, 2008 from 10-11 a.m. at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City with the funeral following at 11 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow services at Rolling Hills Cemetery in Winter Haven, FL. Condolences may be sent via www.oakridgefuneralcare.com
