WINTER HAVEN, FL - Vernoy Hensley, 65,  of Auburndale, Florida, died Sunday, January 13, 2008 at the Good Shepherd Hospice Resident Center in Auburndale due to cancer.

Born in Norton, Virginia, on March 26, 1942, he moved to Florida in 1975  from Maryland. He lived in Virginia for 8 years, returning to Florida in 1997.

He worked as a car salesman for over 35 years, the last  10 years at Greenwood Chevrolet in Fort Meade, Florida.  He was presently a member of the Haven Baptist Church.

He is survived by: his wife of 20 years, Darlene Hensley; 2 sons,  Ronald Hens1ey of Auburndale, FL and Donald Hensley of Street, MD; 2 daughters,  Sharon Hicks of Lakeland, FL and Candace Tucker of Winter Haven, FL;4 brothers, Kenneth Hensley, Robert Hensley, Neal Hens1ey, Randy Hensley, all of Abingdon, VA; 4 sisters, Fayetta Williams; of Forest Hill, MD; Goldie Roark and Beverly Bailey, of Abingdon, VA, and Lucille Jones of Mulberry, FL; 8  grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 Havendale Blvd., NW, Winter Haven, FL.  Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, January 18 in the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Schick and Pastor Mark Deckard officiating.
