DAVENPORT - Russell Turner, 85, of Davenport, FL, died February 9, 2008, in Auburndale, FL. due to complications of a stroke.
He was born October 3, 1922 in Orlando, FL and has been a lifelong resident of Davenport. Russell was a maintenance mechanic at Holly Hill Fruit Products for 23 years and also at Citrus World for 15 years. He was a member of Salem Primitive Baptist Church of Plant City, FL and he enjoyed working in his citrus grove.
His wife, Catherine "Pearl" Turner, of 59 years, precedes him in death.
Russell is survived by his son, Tommy Turner of Haines City, FL; daughter, Carolyn Gaffney of Winter Haven, FL; brothers, Edward Turner of Hudson, OH, Raymond Turner of Floral City, FL; sister, Naomi Hansen of Warner Robbins, GA; grandchildren, Ryan Gaffney, Megan Baker; and 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 2/13/08 from 10-11 a.m. at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m.
