HAINES CITY - Delmus A. Davis, 74, of Haines City, FL, died August 23, 2008, in Lakeland, FL due to pneumonia.
He was born December 23, 1933 in Apopka, FL and moved to Haines City in 1971 from Winter Haven, FL. Delmus was a principal for 22 years working at both Bethune Middle School and Jenkins Middle School in Haines City. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Haines City, he was a 20 year member of Rotary in Haines City, and was a 12 year member of the Heart of Florida Board. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Davis of Haines City; children, Carol Viner of Lakeland, FL, Marsden Shaver of Houston, TX and Douglas Shaver of Redlands, CA; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A celebration of Delmus' life will be Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 11 AM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City.
