Winter Haven – Mrs. Didra Lewis, 60, of Winter Haven, Florida died Thursday, May 24, 2007 at her residence due to cancer.
Mrs. Didra Lewis, formerly Didia Moultriez, was born in Harlem, New York in the Lincoln Projects on 2-11-1947.
Her unique and special personality was a beacon of light and good cheer to all who were fortunate enough to make her acquaintance over the 60 years she blessed this earth.
Dee's professional work history included the culinary arts and interior decorating. Although not being blessed with children of her own.
Her greatest love was helping to positively influence the lives of the young people she came across. She will be seriously missed for the role of friend and mentor. She has played to the youth of this country both north and south.
Although always soft spoken, Dee commanded a quiet wisdom that was a true blessing to all who may have sought her counsel.
Dee and Ron met in November 1983 and have been together ever since. They became man and wife in May 1995.
Ron will tell you in a New York minute the best thing that has occurred in his adult life was meeting and marrying Dee. We have packed a lifetime of great fun and new shared experiences into our years together.
God in his gentle wisdom blessed us with each other and it has truly been a great ride with no regrets from either of us.
The one message Dee asked us to pass on to all who attend her service is, “Remember how 1 lived, not how l died. Do not mourn me but celebrate the life l have lived and the future with my blessed Father.”
Dee is survived by her Husband Ronald Lewis and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30pm, Friday, June 1, 2007 in the chapel of Oak Ridge Funeral Care.
