DAVENPORT, Florida - Mrs. Minnie Hittle died Wednesday, May 23, 2007 in Davenport. She was 97.

Born to John Oscar Carlson and Amelia Milbeck Carlson on November 18, 1909 in Noonan, North Dakota, she moved here in 1947 from Gary, Indiana. She was co-owner of Hittle's Market for 17 years. She was a member of Shamrock First Baptist Church of Haines City.

Mrs. Hittle was preceded in death by her husband, George Hittle; she is survived by her sons, Vernon Hittle, John Hittle and James Hittle; daughters, Esther Knox, Phyllis Cowart, Sue Cumbie and Sharon Clements; eighteen grandchildren and twenty two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2007 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at the Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Glenn Giles of Shamrock First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Haines City.
