GERMANY - James “J.D.” Pope Jr., age 74, of Lampertheim, Germany, died on May 3, 2007 in Frankfurt Germany at the Frankfurt University Hospital after a short illness. Born November 22, 1932 in Albertville, Alabama. He was a former police officer in Winter Haven, Fl and then a Polk County Sheriff Deputy and a former Mayor of Dundee, Fl.
He is survived by his wife, Barbel Pope of Lampertheim,; children, Freida Linder-Priest of Davenport, FL, Derrick J. Pope of Savannah, GA, Angela Pope of Lampertheim, Stefan Pope of Ehrwald, Austria; brother, Franklin Pope of Albertville; sisters, Inez Daniel of Auburndale, FL, Margaret Ellis of Power Springs, GA , Joyce Parker of Albertville; and 4 grandchildren.
