DAVENPORT - Geraldine B. Deragon, age 62, of Westford, MA died peacefully at her winter home in Davenport, FL on May 2, 2007 of ALS.

She leaves her loving and devoted husband of 42+ years Paul H. Deragon, who was Gerri’s incredible caregiver during her illness. She will be missed by their 3 daughters and one son: Monique and her husband Patrick Donovan of Windham, NH; Michelle Watson and her friend Ian Fisher of Westford, MA; Nicole and her husband Jerry von Dohlen of Westport, CT; and Marc Deragon of New York, NY. She was a very special Grammie to Brandt Watson; Jack, Danielle, Ryan and Connor Donovan; and Kate and Lauren von Dohlen. Gerri was born in Ontario, Canada to the late James and Margaret Bonner.

 The youngest of 7 children, she leaves 2 brothers, Arthur Bonner and his wife Susan of Ontario, Canada and James Bonner of Brooklyn, MI and 2 sisters Doreen McKillop and her husband Alex of Arlington, MA and June Bertsch and her husband Gerry of Ontario, Canada. Gerri also leaves her brother-in-law George Deragon and his friend Jean Strand of Davenport, FL.

She was predeceased by her sisters Betty Garley and Leone Bonner and sisters-in-law Rosalie Deragon and Marlene Bonner.

She had many loving nieces and nephews. After her children were in school, Gerri studied to become a nurse.

She received her ASN from Middlesex Community College, her BSN from Fitchburg State University and her MSN from Boston University. She had been the Nurse Director of Behavioral Health Services at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center. She loved her job and the people with whom she worked. She was a wonderful teacher to many nursing students at Middlesex Community College, Rivier College and Northeastern University. Gerri was a nurse for over 25 years.
 

A memorial mass will be held at 9:00 am on May 18, 2007 at St. Catherine’s Church in Westford, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Geraldine B. Deragon Scholarship Fund c/o Enterprise Bank, 130 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079. A scholarship will be awarded annually to a nursing student attending Middlesex Community College located in Bedford, MA in memory of Geraldine B. Deragon, MS, RN, CNA, CS.
