WINTER HAVEN - Alex Riner, 17, of Winter Haven, died in an automobile accident while driving his friends home after a Christian concert on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, in Bartow.
He was born Sept. 5, 1989, in Orange Park and came to the area from Louisa, Ky.

He was a computer tech. He was a member of Drama Club at Winter Haven High School, Who's Who of American High School Students and enjoyed playing the guitar. He was a member of Heartland Community Church ,where he was part of the Youth and Praise Band and video team.

Survivors include his father, Ron Riner of Winter Haven; mother, Tammy Riner of Winter Haven; a sister, Kaitlin Riner of Winter Haven; paternal grandparents, Wayne and Nyla Riner of Winter Haven; maternal grandfather, Jack O. Fairchild of Louisa; maternal grandparents, Bea Jae and Benny Vega of Hesperia, Calf.; and paternal great-grandmother, Gladys Elizabeth Riner of Lake Alfred.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, in Winter Haven. The funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family requests that everyone in attendance at the funeral wear jeans or dress casual. Interment will be at Fairchild-LeMasters Cemetery in Louisa.
