WINTER HAVEN - Ruth Elizabeth Reid, age 80, of Winter Haven, Fla., died Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at Winter Haven Hospital in Winter Haven, Fl due to congestive heart failure.

Born May 26, 1926 in McCormick, SC, Mrs Reid moved to Winter Haven from Augusta, GA in 1980 after retiring there from Gracewood State School and Hospital after 21 years. She was a member of Legacy Community Church of God in Auburndale and was the Founder of Reid Group Home.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Daniel M. Cartin, Sr. and second husband, Walker Reid.

She is survived by her: Two Daughters, Helen L. Reese of Winter Haven, Fl and Carolyn Simon of Merritt Island, Fl; Two Sons, Daniel M. Cartin, Jr. of Deland, Fla. and David L. Cartin of Winter Haven, Fl; a Sister, Bessie Copeland of Martinez, Ga; a Brother,
Bobby Boysworth of Augusta, Ga.; Nine grandchildren and Eleven Great-Grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm till 7:00pm, Thursday, Jan. 4, 2006 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am, Friday, Jan 5, 2006 in the Oak Ridge Funeral Care Chapel. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
