ORLANDO- Roger Ray Robertson, 54, of Winter Haven, Fl died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007 as a result of a motorcycle accident in Orlando, FL.
Born Nov. 12, 1952 to Floyd & Duella (Witte) Robertson in Mediopolis, IA, Roger graduated from Burlington High School in 1971 and married Delora Babcook Sep. 29, 1972 in Burlington, IA. He moved with his family to Winter Haven, Fl from Iowa in 1987 and was a truck driver for Colorado Boxed Beef in Lakeland, Fl. He enjoyed playing his guitar , golf, playing cards, riding his motorcycle and spending time with their grandchildren. He and his wife, Delora, enjoyed ministering to the senior citizens in nursing homes throughout Polk County. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Burlington, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two nephews and 1 niece.
Survivors include his 3 children, Justin, Mandy and Clinton, all of Winter Haven; his brothers, Marvin (Claire) Robertson of Winter Haven, FL, Bob (Colleen) Robertson of Hamilton, IL, and Allan (Helen) Robertson of Danville, IA; his sisters, Margie (Paul) Marshall of Burlington, IA, Janice (Don) Eland of Burlington, IA and Nancy Robertson of Burlington, IA. And four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm till 7:00pm, Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven, Fl 33881. Funeral Services will be held at 10am, Friday, March 2, 2007 in the Ridge Community Church in Dundee with Pastor Steve Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery.
