| | Jewel Powell MADISON, Ala. -- Mrs. Jewel Powell of Madison, Ala., a former resident of Haines City, died of respiratory failure Saturday (Aug. 12, 2006). She was 88.
Mrs. Powell was born July 20, 1918. She was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Powell. She is survived by her daughters, Lou Watts, Madison, Elizabeth Crocker, Elba, Ala., Huey Purvis, Ocilla, Ga.; sisters, Lucy Hornsby and Martha McDaniel, both of Iron City, Ga.; brother, Benny Lane, Iron City, Atwood Lane, Cairo, Ga.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Hill Cemetery, Haines City.
