| | Sarah "Sally" Brooks Harris 
HAINES CITY -- Mrs. Sarah "Sally" Brooks Harris of Haines City died of cancer Monday (Aug. 7, 2006) in Tampa. She was 63.
Born in Greeneville, Tenn., on Sept. 11, 1942, she came to Polk County more than 40 years ago. She was a teacher for the Polk County School District Board for 42 years,winning several awards including teacher of the year. She was the first Polk County teacher to win the state economics education award. She was a Baptist.
Mrs. Harris is survived by her husband, Wayne Harris; daughter, Holly A. Harris, Haines City; son, David N. Harris, Polk City; father, C.L. Brooks, Bushnell; sisters, Marjorie Gatley, Bushnell, Johnnie Amato, Pallston, Md.; brother, Stephen Brooks, Brooksville; four grandchildren.
Services will be at 4 this afternoon at Eastside Baptist Church in Haines City. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City.
