AUBURNDALE -- Mr. James R. Wegeng of Auburndale died of a viral infection Tuesday (August 1,2006) at Winter Haven Hospital. He was 76.
Born Feb. 15, 1930, in Pesotum, Ill., Mr. Wegeng moved to Auburndale from Villa Grove, Ill., 15 years ago. He was an electrical service engineer for the C.S. Johnson Co. in Champagne, Ill. He was a member of Tuscola, Ill., and Winter Haven Moose Lodges. He was a school board member in Villa Grove, Ill. He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Mr. Wegeng is survived by his wife, Mary Wegeng; sons, Phil Wegeng, Bloomington, Ill., Michael Wegeng, Champagne; daughters, Kay Test, Wetherford, Texas, Paula Donnals, Tuscola, Ill., Gail Vail, Villa Grove, Ill.; and brother, Bill Wegeng, Grand Junction, Arizona.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 208 N. Pine St., Villa Grove, IL 61956.
