WINTER HAVEN - Mr. Marvin Edwin "Buzz" Rawls, of Winter Haven, FL, passed away October 5, 2007 in Winter Haven.

Mr. Rawls was born May 4, 1929 in Crockett, TX.  He attended school at the Texas State Orphanage in Corsicana, Southern Methodist University, and UCLA.  He served in the U.S. Air Force, and worked for many years as a mechanical engineer before settling in Florida.

He is survived by his daughter, Jeannie Taylor and her husband, Stephen; three grandchildren, Zachary, Joshua, and Mary, all of Mesquite, TX; his brother, Claude Dillard Rawls, and sister-in-law Billie Downey Rawls, of Crockett, TX; and his sister, Mozelle Rawls Weeks, and brother-in-law, Bob Weeks of Arlington, TX; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by many friends, including Matt and Anna Mincy, and his two cats, Kiki and J.J.

A viewing will take place on Monday,October 8, 2007, between 5:00pm  and 7:00pm at Oakridge Funeral Home in Winter Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the State Orphans Home Scholarship Fund, c/o Mozelle Weeks, 2106 Twin Elms, Arlington, TX 76012.
