Sherman Hall

WINTER HAVEN - Sherman Holly Hall, 72, of Winter Haven passed away Saturday, November 24, 2007, at his residence due respiratory failure.

Born August 14, 1935, to James S. and Jesse Beck Hall in Elba, Alabama, he has been a resident of the area since moving here at the age of thirteen.  Sherman was retired from the City of Auburndale after working there for 16 years.  He also worked at Mitchell’s Feed Store prior to that for 15 years and had been a ceramic tile setter.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Inwood where he was a deacon and sang in the church choir for a number of years. 

 He is preceded in death by: his parents; two brothers, W.G. Hall and Marcus "Bill" Hall; and three sisters, Vannie Mae Frymire, Voncile Ward and Euna Rean Richards.

 He is survived by: his wife of 52 years, Margaret Henderson Hall; two sons, Stanley Hall of Bartow and Christopher Conner of Winter Haven; three daughters, Sunny Hall of Tampa; Laura Hall of Tampa; and Deann Pletcher and her husband Bobby of Chipley, FL; a brother, James Hall of Highland City; two sisters, Verna Maloy of Winter Haven and Louise Weeks of Lake Wales; and two grandchildren, Carissa and Garrett Pletcher, both of Chipley, FL.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven.  Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, November 28, 2007 in the Funeral Home Chapel with   Dr. Greg Morris officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeside Memorial Park.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.oakridgefuneralcare.com.
