HAINES CITY, Florida - William Finley Horton, age 79, of Haines City,  passed away July 24, 2007 in Asheville, North Carolina.

Born on May 31, 1928, in Ludlow, Kentucky to Robert Elton Horton and Effie Farmer Horton, he moved to Haines City in 1962 where he had taught in  Polk County Schools. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Haines City; Winter Haven Moose Lodge #1023 and the Winter Haven Masonic Lodge #186 F. & AM. Mr. Horton was a graduate of Florence High School, Florence, Kentucky & Georgetown University, Georgetown, Kentucky.
 

Preceded in death by his wife, he is survived by daughter Sandra Horton Wilson of Cosby, Tennessee.

Friends will gather for fellowship from 4:00 to 5:00 PM Monday, August 20, 2007 and a memorial service  which will follow at 5:00PM. at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City, Florida.
