 Allan O. Shelton

 

WINTER HAVEN - Allan O. Shelton, 92, passed away July 24, 2007 at Spring Lake Nursing Center in Winter Haven, Florida. 

A native of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Mr. Shelton moved to Winter Haven from Chicago, Illinois in 1977.  Mr. Shelton was a assistant to the Vice-President of engineering at Illinois Central Railroad. 

A veteran of World War II in the United States Army he was involved in the battle of the bulge. A recipient of the American Theater Service Medal, European African Middle East Service Medal and the Purple Heart World War II Victory Medal.   

Mr. Shelton was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Lake Region Yacht and Country Club both of Winter Haven, Florida.   

Mr. Shelton is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Sunny Shelton, Son, Stephen Allan (Rebecca C.) Shelton, Houston, TX Daughter, Brenda Faye (Michael) Steele, Santa Rosa, Ca. Sister, Evelyn Harris, Lexington, KY. Four Grandchildren and two Great-Grandchildren  

Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 27, 2007 at 2PM at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the American Cancer Society, 809 South Florida Avenue, Lakeland, Florida   33801, or First Presbyterian Church, 637 6th Street N.W., Winter Haven, Florida   33881   Condolences may be sent to www.oakridgefuneralcare.com   Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Winter Haven
