HAINES CITY - Luther B. "L.B." Rogers, age 72, of Haines City, Florida, passed away Monday, July 23, 2007 at Winter Haven Hospital.

Born July 3, 1935, to Christopher Grimshaw Rogers and Lena McCall Rogers in Cashiers, North Carolina. He had been a resident of this area since moving here in 1958 from Virginia. He was a retired mine foreman and an active member of the Woodmen of the World. He attended First Presbyterian Church of Haines City, loved to golf and raise pineapples.

He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 49 1/2 years Betty Rogers; three daughters, Sheryl Rogers, Laura and husband Brian Meade, and Emily and husband Terry Chafin of Haines City; seven grandchildren, Ashley Adkins, Marca Hobbs, Jaclyn Hobbs, Kristen Meade, Cory Meade, Amber Chafin and Jenna Chafin; one brother, Frank Rogers of Gilbert, West Virginia.; two sisters, Alice Mason of Ruston, Louisiana, and Christine Lehn of Cashiers, North Carolina.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 26, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 27, 2007 at the funeral home chapel. Burial services will follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery, Old Lucerne Park Road, Winter Haven.
