EAGLE LAKE, FL - Clement William "Bill" Piper, Jr., 66 , of Eagle Lake, passed away, Monday, Dec. 10, 2007 at Winter Haven Hospital due to Heart Failure.
Born March 21, 1941 in Turtle Creek Pennsylvania to the late Clement W. and Margaret Brown Piper, he grew up in Sherman, NY and moved to Florida in 1959 to attend the University of Miami. He was retired as a supply clerk from the phosphate industry in Mulberry, Fl and was of the Baptist Faith. Bill was an avid bass fisherman and was one of the founding members of the United Bass Fisherman; a prior member of the Winter Haven Lunker Lovers and the Heart of Florida Bass Mates; and also a Member of B.A.S.S.;. He was also a proud member of the United Chemical Workers Union.
Preceded in death by his parents, Bill is survived by: his wife of 44 years, Betty L. Piper; a daughter Lisa Snearly Piper and son-in-law, Ralph Snearly of Haines City, FL; 3 step-grandsons, Josh, Eric and Jacob Snearly; 4 brother-in-laws, Herbert Crowley and his wife, Debbie of Winter Haven, James Crowley and his wife Pat of Winter Haven, Charles Crowley and his wife Michelle of Mansfield, OH, and Jack Crowley of Winter Haven; 4 sister-in-laws, Olene Sanders and her husband Clayton of Decator, TN, Florence Drury of Knoxville, TN; Wilma Lawson and her husband Johnny of Indianapolis, IN and Joyce Sheppard of Winter Haven; 25 nieces and nephews; and 20 great-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm till 8:00pm, Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven. Funeral Services will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00pm, Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007 with Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeside Memorial Park.
