HAINES CITY, FL - William "Bill" Giddens, 87, of Haines City, FL, died Monday, December 10, 2007, at his residence due to heart failure.

He was born January 1, 1920 in Jacksonville, GA, and moved here in 1947 from Baltimore, MD. He was a citrus buyer and a grove owner, and he was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, Haines City.

Bill is predeceased by his wife, Marie Giddens; brother, George T. Giddens; and sister, Florice McCoy. He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Askew of Haines City, Angie Akins of Marietta, GA; brothers, Hardy Giddens of Davenport, Alvin Giddens of Sherwood, AR: sisters, Viola Wooten of Kissimmee, Rosa Mae Reynolds of Davenport, Louise Sifford of Winter Haven; grandchildren Kevin and Spencer Askew.

Visitation will be Wednesday 12/12/07 from 1-2 p.m. at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City with the service following at 2 pm. The family has asked that memorials be sent to Hope Hospice 1525 Lakeland Hills Blvd., Lakeland, FL 33805.
