HAINES CITY, FL - Raymond N. Wells, age 79, of Haines City, FL, died Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at his residence. 

Raymond was born March 12, 1928 in New York, NY to Raymond and Dorothy Thew Wells. He has resided in Haines City now for sixteen years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WW II and Korea. He retired from working for the US Government after some 20 years of service. Raymond was of the Presbyterian faith; a member of American Legion, Post 8; he was a Mason in the Collington Lodge of Maryland; he served on the original Board of Directors at Sweetwater; and was a Chairman of their Resource Committee for 5 years; and he was an active stamp collector. Golf was Raymond’s second Love only after Family. Raymond was predeceased by his son, Martin Lee Wells.

He is survived by his wife, of 55 years, Vivian Wells; son, Raymond "Sonny" N. Wells III and his wife Ruth; brother, Daniel F. Wells; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1 niece and 2 nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday December 2, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Funeral services will be Monday December 3, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home and burial to follow at Florida National Cemetery at 1 p.m. A celebration of his life will take place at the Sweetwater Clubhouse at 5 p.m. on Monday.
