LEESBURG - James Edward Prather, Jr., 48, of Leesburg, FL passed away, Saturday, August 25, 2007 ay the Leesburg Regional Medical Center due to cancer.

Born August 6, 1959 to James and Grace Prather of Winter Haven, FL he was a resident of Leesburg since 1997 having moved there from Winter Haven. James was of the Baptist Faith and was a Federal Correctional Officer at the Coleman Federal Prison.  He was also a veteran of the US Army having served during Desert Storm in the Middle East.

 Preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Darlene Prather, he is survived by: his wife, Sherry Prather; his parents, James and Grace Prather, of Winter Haven, FL; a son, James E Prather, III of RAF Mildenhall, UK; and 2 daughters, Tiffany and Amanda  Prather both of Leesburg, FL.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 29, 2007 from 5-8pm, at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 Havendale Blvd, Winter Haven, FL.  Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am, Thursday in the Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery in Winter Haven.   Condolences may be sent to the family at www.oakridgefuneralcare.com
