HAINES CITY, FLORIDA - Hubert M. Baker, of Haines City, Florida died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at his residence in Haines City. He was 77.
Born November 24, 1929, in Ariton, Alabama, to Leonard Cleveland Baker and Ida Victoria Carter Baker, he moved to Haines City in 1949. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict as a Master Sergeant, he was an assistant superintendent of Stokley Van CampCold Food Storage, as well as a member of Grenelefe River of Life Worship Center in Haines City. His hobbies included camping, going to church, working and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Baker is survived by his wife of 57 years, Christine Myers. Baker of Haines City, Florida; sons, Hubert Earl Baker of Haines City, Garry Len Baker of Kissimmee, Florida; daughter, Sheila Ann Cotton of Haines City; sisters, Ruby Verlin Teal of Haines City, Annie Ruth Glenn of Haines City, Flora Williams of Ozark, Alabama; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday April 12, 2007 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Funeral services will be Friday April 13, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
