WINTER HAVEN - Gordon L. “Pete” Spickard, age 80, of Winter Haven, passed away Friday, April 6, 2007 at home from cancer.

A native of Portsmouth, Ohio, Pete moved here in 1984 from Louisville Kentucky. He was a retired chemist for Seagrams Distillery, member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a US Navy veteran during World War II, and was a volunteer for Winter Haven Hospital.

Grace Rae Spickard, his wife preceded him in death. Three sons survive Pete: Brooks Spickard of Auburndale, Scot Spickard of Punta Gorda, and Al Spickard of Cincinnati, Ohio. Pete also has a daughter: Barbara Jobe of Ft. Worth, Texas; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Visitation for Pete will be Tuesday, from 6 to 8 PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10AM from the funeral home chapel.
