Celeste Thompson

DUNDEE - Miss Celeste Thompson of Dundee died Oct. 20, 2006 as a result of a car accident in Lake Hamilton. She was a native of Vero Beach, FL, born Sept. 5, 1981, and has been a lifelong resident of Polk County.

She was a media specialist at Polk City Elementary, a member of the Ridge Community Church of God in Dundee, and a 1999 graduate of Winter Haven High School. She received her Bachelor and Master degrees from Lee University in Cleveland, TN. She also worked as a missionary for three years for the Masters Commission at the Richmond Oaks Church in Atlanta, helping immigrant families, working with children, and young women.

Miss Thompson is survived by her father and step-mother, Rev. Steven and Teresa Thompson, Dundee; mother and step-father, Venisha and Bill Knepper, St. Pete Beach, FL; brothers, Steven Thompson, Central Florida, Nathan Tanksley, Winter Haven; sister, Meagan Tanksley, Dundee; sister-in-law, Kriston Tanksley, Winter Haven. She is also survived by her grandparents, Kirby and Virginia Thompson, Dundee, Curtis and Joan Dowling, Vero Beach, FL, Donna Darby, Lakeland, FL, Stacey and Judy Fuller, Lakeland.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Winter Haven. Services will be 10 AM Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Ridge Community Church of God, Dundee. Internment will follow at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens in Auburndale.
