DAVENPORT, Florida - Mr. Mr. Charles E. Hughes of Davenport died Friday, October 20, 2006 in Auburndale. He was 74.

Born to Fred Hughes and Isabelle Meehan Hughes on February 22, 1932, he came here 16 years ago from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving in the Korean War, a self employed builder and a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Haines City.

Mr. Hughes is survived by his wife, Jeanette M. Hughes; sons, Frederick Hughes, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina and Charles E. Hughes, Jr., New York, New York; daughters, Cynthia Maus, Cedar Creek, Texas, Mary Ann Leake, Evergreen, Colorado and Janette Kelley, Harwich, Massachusetts; twelve grandchildren.

Friends will gather from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2006 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Services will at 10 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2006 at St. Ann Catholic Church. Father Christopher Hoffmann will officiate.
