WINTER HAVEN - Evelyn Kitchens Dowd, 66 of Winter Haven, FL died Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center due to complications from cancer. A native of Lakeland, FL who moved to Winter Haven in 1960, she was a member of the Baptist Faith. Evelyn was an LPN and had worked for Dr. Robert Halle for more than 15 years, where she was devoted to the care of her patients and cared so much for all of them. She is preceded in death by: her father , George B. Kitchens; mother, Evelyn Irene Kitchens Prescott; and a daughter, Evangeline Kay Dowd. Evelyn in survived by; her husband, Howard Dowd of Winter Haven; two sons, Kevin Dowd and his wife Gina of Auburndale, FL and Kris Dowd of Cumming, GA; a daughter, Kandi Brown and her husband Pete of Auburndale, Fl; a brother, Robert Kitchens and wife Joyce of Rabbittown, AL; 3 grandsons, Dalton Dowd, Logan Brown both of Auburndale, FL and Hunter Dowd of Winter Haven, FL; 2 granddaughters, Kiely Dowd of Winter Haven, FL and Kendra Brown of Auburndale, FL; a step-grandson, Justin Finder of Auburndale, Fl; and a step-granddaughter, Katy Finder of Auburndale, FL. She lived for her grandchildren, which was her reason for living, they were so special to her. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00pm till 8:00pm at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven, FL. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, October 21, 2006 in the Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
