WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. Lester Deane of Winter Haven died of heart failure Friday (May 26, 2006). He was 83.

Born Oct. 26, 1922, in Fall River, Mass., Mr. Deane moved to Winter Haven from Ports-mouth, R.I., five months ago. He served in the Navy during World War II. He worked as a shipfitter for Newport Shipyard. He was a member of the American Legion Viera Post in Portsmouth. He was a Protestant.

Mr. Deane is survived by his wife, Lois Deane; son, Lester Bruce Deane, Winter Haven; daughter, Lorna Rozon, Portsmouth; three grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Winter Haven. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
