HAINES CITY -- Mr. John Ondrus of Haines City died of a heart attack Sunday (May 21, 2006) in Haines City. He was 65.
Born in Emmett, Mich., on June 23, 1940, he came to Lake Alfred from Michigan in 1998, moving to Haines City in 2005. He was a retired field mechanic for El Paso Gas Co. in Capac, Mich. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 8 in Winter Haven. He was a Lutheran.
Mr. Ondrus is survived by his wife, Helen Ondrus; son, James Ondrus, Columbus Township, Mich.; brother, Andy Ondrus, Port Huron, Mich.; sisters, Anna Bean, Margaret Frank, both of St. Petersburg, Susie Ondrus, Dothan, Ala., Ethel Corwin, Capac, Paulene Vincent, Imlay City, Mich.
Memorial services will be in Michigan.
