WINTER HAVEN -- Mrs. Thelma Mae Yates of Winter Haven died of natural causes associated with old age Monday (March 27, 2006) in Winter Haven. She was 95.
Born in Ripley, Ohio, on April 5, 1910, she came to Winter Haven from Lake City in 1988. She was a licensed practical nurse for a physician's office. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 168, Richmond, Mich. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Capak, Mich.
Mrs. Yates was preceded in death by her husband, Farrell Yates. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Yates Carpenter, Winter Haven; son, David Yates, Wallend, Tenn.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 this evening at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 West Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Oak Hill Burial Park in Lakeland.
