DAVENPORT -- Mr. Auburn G. Roland Sr. of Davenport died of heart failure Sunday (June 11, 2006) in Davenport. He was 56.
Born in Esto on Nov. 11, 1949, he came to Davenport from Avon Park in 1980. He worked for Coca Cola Food Division for 10 years. He was an Army veteran where he served as a paratrooper.
Mr. Roland is survived by his wife, Connie Humpston Roland; sons, John Cothern, Cleveland, Tenn., Auburn G. Roland II, Jimmy Roland, both of Davenport; daughters, Melody Barksdale, Juanelle D. Roland, both of Davenport, Virginia Ann Roland, Alturas; brothers, Carlton Roland, Slocum, Ala., William Roland, Wauchula, Jimmy Don Roland, Alturas, Dennis Morel, Avon Park; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 this afternoon at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City.
