POLK CITY -- Mrs. Mary Ann Porter of Polk City died of lung cancer Sunday (June 11, 2006) at home. She was 49.
Born in Cortland, N.Y., on March 16, 1957, she came to Polk City from Auburndale in 1995. She was a kitchen manager for Dixie Boy Truck Stop.
Mrs. Porter is survived by her daughters, Pamala Ann Porter Mitchell, Polk City, Tammy Louise Porter, Gainesville; brother, Mark Clifford Ellis, Cortland, N.Y.; sisters, Donna Eugena Beckwith, Oxford, N.Y., Kim Marie Ellis, Polk City, Laurie Jean Allison, Auburndale, Susan Michelle Young, Texas; three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Winter Haven. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thurday at the funeral Home chapel.
