HAINES CITY -- Mrs. Marie S. Giddens of Haines City died of cancer Saturday (Jan. 7, 2006) in Lakeland. She was 82.
Mrs. Giddens was born March 27, 1923, in Augusta, W. Va. She worked as a retail sales assistant for Snively Groves for more than 23 years. She attended Eastside Baptist Church, Haines City.
Mrs. Giddens is survived by her husband, Bill T. Giddens, Haines City; daughters, Sharon Askew, Albany, Ga., Angie Akins, Marietta, Ga.; sister, Bayrine S. Jones, Richmond, Va.; brothers, B. Helsley Sowers, Augusta, Donald O. Sowers, Avon Park, Blakely Sowers, Augusta, Ronald K. Sowers, Shepherdstown, W.Va., Cloyce J. Sowers, Augusta; and two grandsons.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
