WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. Richard Allen Farrington of Winter Haven died of emphysema Feb. 9, 2006. He was 80.
Born Oct. 13, 1925, in High Point, N.C., Mr. Farrington moved to Winter Haven from Baltimore, Md., in 1976. He served in the Navy in World War II. He worked as a police officer for the Baltimore City Police Department. He also worked for Walt Disney World Security and was commended for saving a life there once.
Mr. Farrington was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Elizabeth Farrington. He is survived by his son, Scott Farrington, Lakeland; daughter, Ann Drilling, Winter Haven; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Winter Haven. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
