Ed J. Allison

HAINES CITY -- Mr. Ed J. Allison of Haines City died of complications from Alzheimer's disease Wednesday (April 26, 2006) in Winter Haven. He was 94.

Born in Patriot, Ohio, on Sept. 25, 1911, he came to Davenport from Temperance, Mich., in 1977. He was a purchasing agent for Campbell Soup for 31 years. He was a Mason of the Blue Lodge Scottish Rite Shriners, Mizpah Temple. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Temperance.

Mr. Allison was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Allison. He is survived by his wife, Minnie Allison; sons, James Allison, Florence, Ind., Stewart Allison, Colleyville, Texas; daughter, Marsha Huff, Liverpool, N.Y.; stepdaughter, Evelyn J. Powers, Bloomington, Ind.; four grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 1001 Grace Ave., Haines City. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Park in Winter Haven.
