HAINES CITY -- Mr. Drummer Hartsfield of Haines City died of heart failure Friday (April 7, 2006) in Davenport. He was 91.
Born in Lamont on June 2, 1914, he came to Haines City from Alabama, in the late 1970s. He retired from the city of Vero Beach. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Hartsfield was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Faye Douglas Hartsfield. He is survived by his sons, Robert Hartsfield, Washington, D.C., Douglas Hartsfield, Haines City; daughter, Martha Bates, Lake Alfred; stepsons, Reppard Powers Jr., Perry, James Powers, Ocoee, Ralph Powers, Cocoa Beach; stepdaughter, Bertha Elizabeth Laudermilk, Tennessee; sister, Janie Todd, Vero Beach; 15 grandchildren; many great-grand-children.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2006 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 1001 Grace Ave., Haines City. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2006 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City.
