A native of Old Town, Maine, he came to the area in 1995.

He was a retired postal clerk and carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a retired chief master sgt., serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond Brooks Jr. of Hernando, and Larry Brooks of Newfields, N.H.; a brother, James Brooks of Olt Town, Maine; a sister, Martha Celestia Young of Friendship, Maine; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
