Flossie L. Varney

 

LAKE WALES -- Mrs. Flossie Lucile Varney of Lake Wales died of heart failure Monday (Aug. 29, 2005) in Winter Haven. She was 84.

Born in Washington Court House, Ohio, on March 5, 1921, she came to Winter Haven from there last year. She was a factory worker for U.S. Shoe Corp. in Greenfield, Ohio, for 34 years.

Mrs. Varney was preceded in death by her first husband, Herschel C. Reed, and second husband, Pearl C. Varney. She is survived by her son, Worley Reed, Lake Wales; sister, Ruby H. Narehood, Washington Court House; brother, Homer Pinkerton, Greenfield, Ohio; two grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Southside Church of Christ, 9215 Fayette St., Washington Court House, Ohio. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Washington Court House Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Society for the Support of Injured Survivors of Terrorism, P.O. Box 545, Winter Haven, 33882.
